Ladies Take on Portugal: Hills, Wine & Endless Laughter 🇵🇹🍷☀️

This past year, I had the absolute joy of hosting a ladies’ trip to Portugal, and what an adventure it was! Eight amazing women came together to explore this beautiful country on G Adventures’ Discover Portugal tour—and from Lisbon’s winding hills to the golden beaches of the Algarve, it was a trip filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

We started with a couple of days in Lisbon before the tour officially began. One of the highlights? A tuk tuk tour through the city’s steep, cobblestoned streets. There’s nothing quite like zipping around in a tuk tuk, music playing, and all of us laughing so hard our sides hurt. We soaked in the colorful tiles, lively neighborhoods, and of course, a few glasses of local wine to toast the start of our journey.

Once on tour, we crisscrossed the country—discovering charming towns, incredible history, and breathtaking views. We embraced Portugal’s famous hills (our legs definitely got a workout!), shared countless laughs over delicious meals, and found plenty of moments to just sit back, sip vinho verde, and soak in the beauty around us.

To wrap it all up, we spent a few extra days in the Algarve. Think sunshine, sandy beaches, and pure relaxation—the perfect way to end a whirlwind adventure. A major highlight here was our Benagil Caves boat tour, where we cruised along the dramatic coastline and into the iconic sea caves—an absolutely magical experience that left us all in awe. Those days were filled with fun in the sun, long chats by the pool, and the kind of laughter that only happens when you travel with friends who feel like family.

Trips like this remind me why I love hosting women’s travel groups—it’s about so much more than the destination. It’s the friendships, the belly laughs, and the memories we carry home.
